Will Coleman’s Caramel Apple Bread Pudding


  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons (¼ stick) unsalted butter, more for greasing pan
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ loaf sourdough, cut into 2-inch cubes (about 5 to 6 cups)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Cosmic Crisp® apples, chopped
  • 16 ounces store bought caramel
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings, for serving
  • Ice cream, for serving


  1. Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Meanwhile, combine together milk, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt in a small saucepan.
  3. Once the butter is melted and the milk is simmering, remove from heat.
  4. Grease a 8×8 baking dish with butter and assemble in chopped apples and cubed bread together.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over and allow to sit for 20 minutes before placing into the oven.
  6. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until the custard is set and bread is slightly crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle on caramel sauce and heavy cream.
  8. Serve bread pudding with shaved chocolate and ice cream.
