SunButter + Cosmic Crisp® Apple Heart Cakes


  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup SunButter No Sugar Added Sunflower Butter
  • 1 ½ tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp dairy-free milk
  • Splash vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup almond flour or flour of choice
  • 2 tbsp coconut flour
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ⅓ cup finely diced Cosmic Crisp® apples
  • 8 oz melted dark chocolate
  • Melted white chocolate, to drizzle (optional)
  • 6 heart silicone mold


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, coconut sugar, SunButter, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and salt until combined.
  3. Add the almond flour, coconut flour, and baking soda. Fold until just combined, and then fold in the apples.
  4. Divide the batter between the 6 heart molds and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
  5. Let cool for about 15 minutes before removing from the molds to finish cooling.
  6. Place the heart cakes on a wire rack over a baking sheet, and spoon the melted dark chocolate over the top. It’s okay if some drips over the sides.
  7. Drizzle with white chocolate if desired. Place in the freezer to harden for about 10 minutes. Serve with a fresh strawberry slice if desired and enjoy!
