Fall Gnocchi Skillet with Cosmic Crisp® Apple, Bacon, and Sage Butter


  • ½ lb bacon, chopped
  • ¼ cup salted butter
  • ¼ cup sage leaves, chopped
  • 1 Cosmic Crisp® Apple, diced
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 lb potato gnocchi
  • Grated or shaved parmesan cheese, to serve


  1. Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat and add the chopped bacon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until crisp and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  2. Remove the bacon from the pan and discard most of the bacon grease, leaving about a tablespoon of grease in the skillet.
  3. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt. When it begins to bubble and froth, whisk in the sage, apple, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sage is soft and the apple is somewhat tender but still has a bite, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi according to package directions.
  5. Add the gnocchi and the bacon to the skillet and toss to coat in the butter sauce and combine all ingredients.
  6. Serve hot with parmesan if desired!
