Culinary Challenge Winner: Cosmic Crisp® Apple Breakfast Pizza

Place ingredients below in a food processor and pulse for 20 seconds  until butter is coarsely chopped:  1 cup quick oats, ¾  cup whole wheat flour , ½ stick butter  cubed 1/2 inch,  ¼ tsp salt, ½ tsp cinnamon,  1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

To dry ingredients add ½ cup milk,  ½ tsp vanilla and 1 egg to food processor and pulse for 20 seconds until dough forms a soft dough ball.     Grease with cooking spray a 12” cast iron skillet and spread out dough using fingers all the way to the edge of the skillet.

Slice 1 whole Cosmic Crisp® apple into ¼ inch slices and display evenly over the dough in a circular pattern with slight overlap. Start at the upper edge and finish in the middle. Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1 Tbsp sugar. Spray the top with cooking spray. Bake at 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes  until edges of pizza is deep golden brown and apples are tender.

Icing glaze

in a plastic bag add ¾ cup powdered sugar, ½ tsp vanilla and 2 tsp milk. Seal bag and squeeze until icing is mixed and smooth – perfect for little helpers. Cut ¼ inch opening at corner of bag  squeeze and drizzle on top of apple pizza. Cut into 6 slices. Enjoy!
